Question on my new Ampeg BA115T (used)

Hey guys!

Yes, I have used the search button :smug:

I bought a used Ampeg BA115T yesterday and I'm quite happy so far.

I have a question for Ampeg owners... there is a line out on this amp (XLR).

I want to record my bass using this line out into my M-Audio sound card. I don't have a 1/4 to XLR adapter yet but when I put the XLR wire the sound was also coming out from the speaker.

Is there a way to shut down the speaker when using the line out? Can you unwire the speaker easily from behind? Or can you use the headphones out to block the speaker while using the line out?

I want to use the line out with my soundcard so I can practice my bass late at night (bye bye stupid POD!!! :hyper:)

I couldn't find an online manual for the BA115T but I found one for the BA115:
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

It says "10. HEADPHONES: The internal speaker is disconnected when the headphone jack is used"

Looks like the Master Volume controls the XLR Direct Out so you're out of luck there. Not sure why they did it this way.
