i have been researching this and i am seeing mixed information however most of it pertains to combo amps which is not exactly what i am trying to find out.
OK, with that out of the way what i am looking for information wise is the following:
can you use a guitar tube amp HEAD ( specifically a 1987 Peavey VTM120) for bass?
i know speaker cab would have to be bass cab, buti am wondering about the head itself
any pros or cons to doing so? any risk to the head itself?
im asking because i have heard that on some heads there is only like a capacitor and reverb or other small circuit difference. the vtm 120 doesnt actually have any built in effects ( like distortion, reverb, chorus etc) instead adjusting pre and post gain knobs along with the eq and "presence" system knob.
any info would be appreciated thanks in advance.
the reason i want to know is because i cant afford to go buy a bass amp ( i wont settle for anything less than GK LOL, and all my attempts to raise funds have to date failed.
