Double Bass Question....Upright Finish.

Nothing; I let my luthier do it. Seems like the thing is in his shop often enough. Unless somebody spills nachos or something, or I decide to eat a fish taco during a rehersal; then just a damp cloth. For some reason I don't even like a super clean, shiny bass that smells like "new car scent" or whatever it is he uses... :p

You will probably find enlightening the many threads here on the use of various polishes, waxes, cleaner etc. Just do a search and have fun. I think most of us just wipe the bass down with a soft cloth. If you are going to use any type of polish/cleaner, it's important to be careful about what type of solution you use, how much you use, and how often you use it. Failing to do this can result in unwanted agents seeping into small cracks and hampering the effectiveness of future repairs. Again, check the old threads.
