How can I hear myself playing my bass ?
Problem is , I can hear everyone else but not myself !
Is there some way to use an earpiece , so that I can hear what I am playing ?

This may seem like a dumb question , and there is likely a simple answer !

What size speaker cabinet are you using? Sometimes a cab with only one speaker can be harder to hear when standing right in front of it. Is anyone else in the group (keys player or dj) playing in the low register covering your frequency range?

If you have a small amp, raise it off the floor. If you have a big amp, turn up. Make sure you haven't eq'd the mid range out of your amp too. A scooped out tone sounds nice but gets lost in a mix.

I will try raising my amp , maybe up on a chair .
I do not play loud and mostly in a medium size venue . I just wondered if some kind of earpiece monitor would work ?
If so , what , and how to utilize it ?

I am basically Old School , and I like to play my bass as a sort of background (but necessary) instrument !

When I am singing , I barely hear what I am playing !
