Questions about selling a car for salvage...

Thanks...I don't want to part it out...I don't have the time for that. I was hoping to sell it as-is for someone with the inclination to swap out the engine. Transmission is good, electrical, everything else was good...
 
You could possibly get more than that.
I got $900 for a 2004 Saturn with a broken trans and cosmetic damage.

There's more demand for a good on gas Saturn there there is for a gas hog Durango. Plus your trans would be way easier and cheaper of a fix than his engine would be.
 
My brother bought a car for the engine. Took the engine out and parted the rest of it out. He ended up with more cash + the engine than what he originally paid for the car.

I've done that, too. I bought a 71 Impala convertible for $250, sold the engine/trans for $650 and the rolling chassis for $1250.

Wish I could find one of those a week.
