Questions about USO or AFE Military Base tours

I was wondering,
who out there has done any of those USO/AFE tours of Military bases. How were the gigs? was the sound good, whas there a good turnout? Did playing at a military base change your opinion of the military or make you think differently about the war in Iraq, the prisioners at Gitmo?

I did it with my military band, and it was truly amazing. The first thing I'll say is it was the most meaningful playing I did in 20 years. Yes, it did change my opinion about what's going on in Iraq, but not that much. Let's just say I got more complete information. If you have a chance to do this, I say go for it - it will change you!
