Would you use a normal .750 Hipshot "A" bridge for a 24 fret 30 scale bass or the next size tighter?

To me it depends (mostly?) on playing style - if slapping is involved, then wider spacing at the bridge helps. If the guy is a shredder, narrow is better. 0.75" is normal 4-string spacing that old-school slappers learned on, but you can slap with a more narrow string spacing as well.
Might also help to know the player's bridge string spacing on his/her favorite bass, and how close that is to the available Hipshot spacings.
My 30-inch fretless has a .750 string spacing, and I really like it. I have a Hofner knock-off with tighter spacing, and it is not as comfortable for me to play.
