Quick blender pedal question

I'm thinking about buying a blender pedal, I've done some searching and these two are the only ones really talked about:

Xotics X-blender (expensive but phase and eq is handy)
Barge Concepts (cheaper but less on it, feedback loop might be fun).

Are there any others I should be considering?

We do a valve driven one called "Bob the Blender" - Link Removed

With the Barge Concepts, it's a cheaper blender and you can customise it to meet your needs.

I went with the Xotic because of the active EQ controls and the LARGE blend knob.

I was quite interested in DHA Blender, but the added power supply put me off it (although I'm sure it would add a nice bit off warmth when using an overdrive or fuzz pedal in the loop).

The reason I mentioned an added powersupply is because on the DHA website it states that the VT-1 Blender requires a 9-12V PSU with a 1200mA rating, which my current power supply cannot supply.

In comparison, Xotic blender takes a 9v, 2.1mm neg centre supply with 20mA current.

Hi,

Bob the blender will run at 300mA, 9-12VDC positive centre 2.1mm connector.

Thanks Saint, I remember seeing the Radial a while ago but forgot about it. It has a polarity switch, but thats the only benefit over the Barge, plus it costs more.

Yep, I want to blend some clean in with a loop, I will have various overdrives in the loop.

After ordering the Barge I realized that the Boss LS-2 would have been the cheapest way for me to do this, but I think the Barge will be a better product.

Yes - I happily use the Boss LS-2. One thing I might bring up is that one might THINK that they want to blend-in clean - like only clean - but now I put my octaver (OC-3; poly mode) in the 'clean' loop.

Of course, I still perfectly-well have 'clean blend' if I bypass the octaver, but I most-often like the octaver in that position, rather than in-line with the distortions. Another possibility with this setup is to have only the clean down-octave blending back in with an overdriven or distorted branch.

Another thing with clean blend is that now I can run my chorus (CEB-3) in 'vib mode' (put a dummy plug into the second, switched output). Especially when I play high on the neck with distortion into vib on one loop, and clean polyphonic octave-down on the other... Sheesh: it sounds good - very much like paralleled rock guitar + Bass.
