Quick P-Bass question(2000)

Anyone know if a 2000 Fender Precision bass(MIA)is string-through? That's it...thanks.

I'm not absolutely positive, but I'm pretty sure they were. I had a 2000 MIA Jazz, and I'd ALMOST bet the house that it was through the body. So my guess is yes. (That was the first year of the American Series, if that helps any.) Anybody know for sure?

My '01 is string through... I don't know if that helps, I can't see that they'd change from '00 to '01.

And reason why string through is preference? I haven't noticed a tone difference from non-string through basses to string troughs IME...

I don't know that it's a preference. I'm just wondering if it's string through. There's no real difference in tone? I saw a pic of a 2000 and couldn't tell if it's string through or not.

Yes, they started in about 1996.

Yes they are string through - not sure if they also top load however, the late 90s ones were string through only.
