"Quick release" wiring harness?

I'm thinking about trying out some alternate pickups in my P-bass (tho the Model P in there now sounds v good to my ears).

Any problem simply using alligator clips or something similar to quickly connect the pickups to the passive electronics as I swap 'em out? I'll of course solder the pickup leads properly when the experimentation is done.

I don't think there would be a problem, sure a not so optimal contact, might have a resistance high enough for some highs to be lost but you'll have a pretty good idea of how the pickup sound. Since you plan on soldering the final pickup you choose, I don't see a problem at all.

Little wire nuts work well. I use them all the time.
