Does anyone have any experience with Quilter Amps. Somehow I got on their mailing a list and received notice of a new 800 watt amp looks interesting. Any thoughts.

I've liked their 200 Block that I tried at Sam Ash, but I didn't even know they made bass amps.

Their guitar amps are great- super high quality stuff. Exactly what you'd expect from the guy behind QSC.

I'm sure this thing is bomb proof, but the EQ looks a bit minimal for my tastes.

The tone controls should actually be very flexible. They are on the guitar amps, and this is similar.
Turn down Depth and Contour for a treble boosted tone. Turn down Depth and turn up Contour for a mid boost.

Based on the guitar amps, I'd expect some musical overlap in the controls. I've owned three Quilter guitar amps, and really find that there is plenty of flexibility and greater tone/feel in the simpler control layouts of the TB200 and 101 than the TMB tonestack of the MP2-8.

I had a Tone Block 200 for a while and used it with my bass quite a lot. It sounded great; really captured that tubey thing that many crave.

I think the minimal EQ on the Bass Block is nicely done. With the depth and contour controls, you can get just about any EQ you'd like.

I look forward to trying the Bass Block.

The Block series feature fantastic power sections, but you might have to run outboard EQ controls, depending on your tone goals. My 101 Mini guitar amp is a beast, but I run a Tech 21 Liverpool in front to pull in the huge low end and inject sparkle that the 101 can't deliver on its own. (I like a bright, jangly P90 tone.)

I've got two Tone Blocks, a Pro Block (yeah, me a pro.. whatever) and the 101. I have been patiently awaiting the Bass Block. My son has an Aviator combo and a Micropro combo. They are great, American engineered and assembled, micro heads. Long warranty. Pat Quilter is the e-guru behind QSC and other amp projects through the years.

Anybody try the HD version of the Micropro or Mach 2 guitar amps ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) with a bass? These versions have a Neo-speaker voiced for a bass and I thought this might be a decent comprises for a light weight bass and guitar combo
