I'm now a member of the V803 club. This, thanks to a TB'er who made me a terrific deal on one he tried out. I love the amp, the way it looks, everything. I will give you owners something to try that I recommend - front the input with a tube boost pedal. I'm checking out two right now, the Edison and the More. In conjunction with the Warm and Qtube settings and input gain, I am finding any number of overdrive shadings and colors. It is fun to goose the input limiting with tube gain. I can hear the limiting hit. For some folks, it might even replace a separate compressor pedal.

I'm also trying combinations of one of those two pedals with various Lightning Boy transformers, before and after the pedal and getting some really nice tones. Just thought I'd share this.

Great job on the V803, Pat Q! It was well worth waiting for.

Thanks for supplying the code, ipso facto. There is the discount code required. Somehow when I got to the checkout, the code had already been applied.

Free shipping was also available 8 weeks ago so I don't think it's a BF thing.

Your post here pushed me over the edge to order a V803. I've really enjoyed finding pleasant shades of OD with pedals in front of my BB800. Can't wait to mess with The V803's additional voices and the "scoop" input.

OK, I just ordered one from Quilter with a bag. For those of you on the fence, the BF discount applies to the bag also, so the total cost for the amp with a Quilter case was $635.60! Gonna sell my Fuchs FBS 700 and go back to Quilter - I had an 800 that was great but wanted a bit more versatility. Th to those who flagged the deal!

Every review video really focuses a p bass being played with this amp. Was this amp designed specifically with the p bass in mind? I love the muted P with flats sound as much as the next guy, but is that all this amp can do? Admittedly from the videos it does that well.

It's just because everybody seems to consider the P to be The Standard.

I have no Precision, I've tried with several basses and for me, it's a great amp with any bass.

No, of course it wasn't designed specifically with the P in mind. It would be crazy for Quilter to do that. The very design of it tells you that it was designed for maximal versatility, not one-trick-pony stuff. And P-with-flats is by no means all the amp can do. I can attest to that from personal experience. I imagine all the Ps in the videos were used mainly because that sound is a known baseline for a lot of people. (I personally don't own a P, never have owned one, and never expect to own one in my remaining years, but I certainly know what one sounds like.)
