I want to replace my current CX cabs.
I hear them to be to much boomy sounding. I use them with GK MB Fusion 500. I am thinking of amp change a bit. That was the reason for my question on this thread. Anyway I am planning to test them a bit more in new rehearsal space once we finish building it.Out of curiosity, what about them are you looking to change? I've got a set of CX210s, but have only used one at a time so far since I got the 803.
I would say the previous series are at least an order of magnitude lesser quality, sound-wise.Yup, 4ohm would be better. I would be satisfied with Older silver series as well.
Appreciate your feedback. Could you please clarify? lesser quality than which series?I would say the previous series are at least an order of magnitude lesser quality, sound-wise.
The GK Series IV is better quality than the preceding GK series.Appreciate your feedback. Could you please clarify? lesser quality than which series?
Any suggestions? The GK Series IV is better quality than the preceding GK series.
That doesn't mean they sucked, but depending on your budget and the price of the older series GK cabs you might find, in my case, I probably would look at some other options.
What price range?Any suggestions?

+1 for using older GB cabinets like the NeoX 2x12

It's funny: in theory it could be a recent photo (it could be your current gear, so you could have shot this photo yesterday).
But just looking at this photo, something tells me it's old. I wonder what?
No, I don't think it's the old gear, you could have kept everything. It's something about the colors, I think if you were sitting today in the same room with the same gear and took a photo with a modern smartphone, you would get different colors, less yellowish. I suppose modern smartphone apply automatically some color optimization, and we've got used to it (?). Not important, just a thought…The old Genz Benz cabs perhaps or maybe it's the really old Roland synth leaning against the wall? I don't know but the only thing that I still own in that picture are the BB800, Bugera Veyron & two keyboards. Everything thing else has been gone for quite a while….
I am considering if Darkglass is for me. I played on 112 in GC thru Microtubes and didn't love it. I will be pairing my cabinet with GK MB Fusion 500 as well.Thomann has the Darkglass DG212N for 899 British Pounds.
I wouldn't judge any cabinet running a Darkglass amp into it.I am considering if Darkglass is for me. I played on 112 in GC thru Microtubes and didn't love it. I will be pairing my cabinet with GK MB Fusion 500 as well.
