Seems like a reasonable trade to me...You know what's hilarious about this one? I sold 4 pedals to get this..

@GBass001 how is the fan noise level on the BB800?
Is the fan running from start-up, or does it turn on later should things heat up?

I'm thinking about getting a Bass Block myself. I seldom use much EQ adjustment unless it is to reduce lows in a room, or to scoop some mids for a less-harsh fingerstyle tone. That's what the BB controls do! I do most of my tonal work with pickup balance and onboard tone controls, so don't need parametric or graphic EQ. I'm also not using XLR out that often, so the basic XLR out is okay. If I do need a more sophisticated XLR out, I can break out a direct box.
This thing has to sound good, from the descriptions on the QL website. Plenty of power for what I do.
Really, the only things that put me off about the BB are back panel: The unneeded XLR in, and the 1/4" output jacks instead of two combo Speakons. I can see Pat Quilter doing a second generation BB that makes those changes, as he'll get that feedback from bass players.
Pro Audio Land in CA has a Labor Day sale going on, with a 15% discount. Can't beat that unless it's bought used!

I'm with you on this, but with some additional refinements:
- Replace the two 1/4" inputs on the front panel with a single one and a neighboring Pad switch near the existing Mute switch.
- Relocate the 1/8" headphone out to the rear panel and make it a more durable 1/4" TRS. (This perhaps could double as Tuner Out to accompany the Mute.)
This one runs just after it starts up. Also, in mute or not, there is a small consistent kind of a white noise. Very faint but still exists. I don't remember if it was there outta the box. I was playing so much it hardly had a chance to idle. Now that it is, when I'm changing songs or whatever I can hear it. Again it's the same in mute or not. Of course it's gone with no speaker/cab plugged in.
Unfortunately, Quilter is excluded from the sale. If you follow the sale link at the top of the page and read the fine print there's a list of manufacturers that are excluded.
There has to be a good reason for this/these options. I own a QSC PA and all the features on the back of those KW's have a purpose. Maybe there's an angle we haven't discovered yet. Like I took it to use for my lunch break practice amp and discovered I only had half the equation - the headphone jack. I didn't realize, yet, that I needed to input my iPad (I use slowdowner). Update: The white noise static is pretty consistent. And there is a little pop when engaging the mute button and disengaging. Now, that's cool-n-all here in my office/practice space but on the gig, I don't know... actually it's not a button, when pushed that stays in but more of a momentary contact switch. Hopefully it's just mine. I guess we'll see if more feedback shows up. I can't tell if it's normal or what. Sitting here for the last ten minutes, the white noise seems to remain consistent and a lil scratchy sound has increased with it. Weird. Just sitting idle.
Again the sound it makes when playing is the cats pajamas, to my ears anyway. My only comparo is the Aguilar DB751 with those 3 preamp tubes which make it very lovely. So to hear that kind of sound coming out of a solid state is wild. Especially when the BB800 weighs 10.5 times less.

For balance I like the idea of the XLR in. It's more options for my pedal setup. I can go in via the front panel of the Bass Block or using the DI out on my Basswitch or Two Notes Le Bass etc. Another option for my EUB via a preamp also. This is better implemented than the XLR-in on my old Markbass LM11 as the signal enters after the preamp section. The single Speakon doesn't worry me as I can always daisy chain from the 1st cab.
I currently have an amp with an input pad switch and find that it's too easy to depress when inserting the jack lead so I like the fact that it has separate inputs for active and passive.
I'm really looking forward to the day mine gets over to this side of the Atlantic.
I have had a number of amps over the years that were a little noisy in the background in my older house, and then they weren't that way in other places/venues. Some amps are more sensitive to AC line conditions than others. The noise Gbass is experiencing may be due to the AC in his office/practice space. Gbass, have you played the Quilter in other places yet? As he said, we do need more input from other Quilter owners.

I'm not particularly worried about it either, as I am still contemplating getting one this weekend, and I would daisy chain if I wanted to use two cabs also. However, I think having two combination Speakons, that accept either a 1/4" or Speakon connection, would be the right way to do it.
Quilter is in the list on that linked page. However, on that page, PAL says, "If your coupon code does not work on the item you wish to purchase, please give us a call toll free at 1-877-671-2200 or Live Chat. We will make sure you get taken care of." (For whatever that's worth.)
Also, I tried both coupon codes in the checkout for the Quilter head. The 20% code does not work, but the 15% code does - the discount is shown in the total. I'm fine with the 15% discount if that's all I can get. It's still the best new price out there for a Bass Block right now. I may buy the head for that price and call PAL when they return on Tuesday to inquire about the additional 5%.
