Sadly another hero gone. RIP Charlie Watts. Thank you for the decades of music.

I just watched that. It's like Casa Blanca in color. Charlie Watts and his time machine.

In interviews he always came across as so unaffected and honest. Like he had no time for stardom b.s. He also came across as humble. That may be because as a drummer his heroes were jazz greats and that was his own high bar. Some time ago some started a thread asking which famous drummer would you like to be in a band with and Charlie Watts was one of my picks. He was crucial to everything that made the Rolling Stones a great (the greatest?) rock and roll band.

In a decade long ago I was a rhythm guitar player and Charlie Watts was my drummer gold standard.
