Charlie was the oldest, of course, by 2 or 3 years and was a pretty established player before he took up with those young punks.:laugh:

He was not doing the tour to begin with they already planned the tour with Steve Jordan as the drummer since Charlies condition was not a secret in the group. They had fully expected him to recover in time.

Came to find out that Charlie and I had something in common...we both hated being referred to as "my drummer" or "my bassist." Now I didn't have the balls to punch anyone over it like Charlie did with Mick, but when I heard that story for the first time, all I could think of is how much I relate to that.

RIP Charlie, and WTG on Mick!

Steve Jordan was handpicked by Charlie to be his successor, BTW. Steve and Charley Drayton would switch off on guitar and bass in Keith's solo band, and any time Keith wanted a drummer who played like Charlie, Steve would play drums.

Yeah I just don't know if now that he's died they have the heart for it. It's one thing to hire a replacement for a sick friend, but when the friend dies? I don't know if I could play, at least not for a while. I guess we'll see, maybe they'll dedicate the tour to Charlie.
