It's testament to his lack of rockstar ego, that at the height of the Stones fame, whilst the others were living the high life ; according to my Mum, he used to come into the college, where she was a student, and spend most lunch times hanging out with her teacher, one of his best friends (photographer Laurence Cutting) in the college canteen.
I guess the food must have been better than my college canteen, or Charlie must have been very modest in his dietary preferences.
