He was a good actor, and a man who stood for his principles no matter what was thought of him. In my estimation, even though I don't exactly agree with everything he believed, I thought he was a decent honest man who lived by his own morals.

The jokes are acceptable to me (and even funny, nothing wrong with humor in any situation, within reason), but the "good riddance" comment is assinine and unnecessary.

He was a fellow human being that wanted the best for his family and his country, as he saw best. Disagree with his positions, but at least show him some courtesy and respect.

RIP, Moses. (...from an agnostic! ;) )

I think he was a fantastic actor, many of his great movies have been mentioned, But did anyone see when he was on saturday night live? He did this hilarous skit as a older stock boy in a grocery store that cracked me up!!!!

Can you all please take the politics of Guns somewhere else, Im not a Mod but my god you are way off subject!!!!!!! Yes he was a suporter of guns but thats not what this thread is about, This is a celebration of a geat actor who brought us a lot of great moments!!!!!!!....so will you please take you gun agument away...If not im sure a mod will be along shortly to take care of this problem.....sorry but rant has been building up all morning

Um Kev You would mean A PUB in England.....and I my self was there 2 years ago, enjoyed many Spotted hens and Walkers crisp......even toured the brewarey in Bury St. Edmunds......so can we ruturn this thread to the memory of Chuck Heston?

Hey Kev sorry to run you off but your are correct speckeled hen is what I wanted to say.....so let us return to taklking about Heston the Artist and not his view on politics.
Sorry if I came down heavy handed but all my life Chuck was one of my favorite actors.
and Mods I appologize if I overstepped my bounds.

I don't share Mr Heston's point of view about handguns,
nor was he one of my fav actors, but he did win the '59 Best Actor Oscar for Ben-Hur

but

He did protest march with Dr MLK and spoke up for civil rights.
When he found a southern US theater wasn't allowing Blacks to see his movie, he went down and picketed the establishment.
He was a good father and was married to the same woman for 64 years.

He was a conservative who spoke up for what HE believed in - true freedom. Not the rah-rah crap of today

Good job. Rest peacefully
