I just heard this sad news this morning. I saw his beloved TC Electronic Blacksmith for sale in the local classified and sent an e-mail asking if it was him. I got a response from a friend of the family informing about the sad news.
I had been trying to get in touch with him for months. All I knew is that he was off on sick leave.
I worked with Andy 6 years ago and I was blown away as to how much he was passionate and knowledgeable about our art. I had never met a guy with such passion.
I got back to playing roughly 3 years ago and he was kind enough to sell me his Peavey Cirrus that he loved so much, on credit none the less. I was broke at the time and he helped me out that way, then his Aguie DB750, on credit again. I will always be grateful for that. He was an amazing soul.
I just sold that Peavey a few weeks ago. Had I known, I would have kept it.

Dave (family friend) is a very nice guy. He is doing a lot of work for the family. I have been helping him set some price points on some of the stuff he was unfamiliar to. I was up there last week and purchased the Blacksmith ( that's why head was not included in the cab sale)
They don't want to have the hassle of mailing anything, so I'm guessing it will take a long time to sell his stuff
Just lost my father to cancer not too long ago...it's an awful disease...please anyone that smokes and reads this, STOP for you and your loved ones. :-(

Dave is a nice guy. Take care of that Blacksmith. Andrew was so excited when he ordered it. He wouldn't shut up about it. hahah Hell of a guy. I'll miss him dearly.

Just lost my dad less than a year ago from bladder cancer...Once again..smoking.
This halloween i will be smoke free for 8years...not even a drag!....I was up to about a pack a day.
So at 8years that will be just over $23,000 in money that i saved myself....obviously the health thing is the most important.
Geez...thats my first time adding all that up....I think i just may go and buy that '70 or'72 P bass that i have been looking at.!

True. The Warmoth I got from Andrew had a noticeable tobacco smell. I worried that his smoking would catch up with him and sadly it did.
I only just discovered this thread, and the news of his passing. I realized I had not seen him post in quite some time, so I did a search...
When I first joined TB I pm'd him because I grew up in Ottawa. It turned out that my friends and I used to frequently see a band of his called Larkspur back when we were in high school in the mid-seventies. He was a very pleasant and thoughtful guy. RIP

He sent me an old band photo, I'll see if I can find it. Not sure if it was Larkspur.
