R warwicks heavy?

I've owne over a dozen Warwicks- all were heavy, There may be a light one out there but it probably hides for fear of all the other basses laughing at it.

I have 2 LX5 and while both are as heavy as my 11 pound P bass they feel lighter due to their comfort.

Exactly. My Vette Std. 4 is like 11 pounds, but it sounds and plays so good that the weight doesn't even matter for me. Now if your playing 3 or 4 hour gigs, and/or you have back problems, maybe you should look into something a little lighter.

I've got a light Warwick; it's an ash bodied Corvette. All the others
that I've owned/played have been pretty heavy, though.

When compared to somthing like and ibanez sr700 they are rediculously heavy.

I owned a SSll 5 thumb5 NT and an infinity5 SN, all really heavy. but they all sounded great. They feel as heavy as most fenders to me at least. except my MiA Jazz 4 delux. its the most comfortable bass i have ever played.

I play fender 4's now tho. altho im thinking of picking up a marcus sig 5 string to go with my MM sig 4 string.

My Warwick is probably around 15lbs+ it's a Pnut II Bass but it sounds awesome playing speed metal. I have recorded with and played it live while jumping around on stage. Be Metals guyz.

IMO, Yep, heavy as hell. But man... The tone's great. I had 2 for short periods of time.

Corvette Bubinga and Streamer LX.

I sold the Corvette because it was too heavy.

But I sold the LX because I needed money then. But, actually, the LX isn't that heavy.

i have a '95 thumb 6 i'm refinishing...
this bass is really heavy, maybe 11+ pounds...
funny thing though, after removing the hardware (including a huge block of brass which sits under the bridge),
the wood isn't that bad- it's lighter than my standard jazz bass (with hardware).
i guess my point is, a good portion of the warwick weight on my thumb 6 is in the hardware, maybe a 1/3rd...
the biggest hog being that bridge, it's block and tailpiece...

My Corvette 6 was right at 12.5lbs. It killed my back after an hour or so but the sound was THICK.
