I would certainly hope so - whites are like over 70% of the American population, while blacks are 13%, lol.

That statistic is anything but useless in response to the post I quoted, which implied black people are killing "Persons of European Heritage". Nice try at deflection though.

According to the 2012 census 77.9% of Americans are white, so the 85% figure would seem to indicate a cultural problem of white on white murder, since white people are murdering white people at a higher rate than an equal distribution would yield.

Judging individuals one behavior is completely appropriate, but extrapolating one individuals behavior to an entire group that shares one characteristic that they have no control over is not appropriate.

Was the American Revolution "justified because of oppression"?

i told him that, used the example of myself, as an American Indian, and the fact that, you see black families out to eat each night in restaurants across America, but (unless you're at a casino, or are in Tehachipi, NM) you almost NEVER see a family of Indians out and about.

This is America, on the cusp of 2014 - the only oppression we truly face would be the oppressive force of a One-World government that continuously oversteps its bounds, and the limitations we place on ourselves, both as a society and personally. there is no such thing as 'racism', it's a social construct designed to keep people divided and not working together.

The example I like to use is David Duke. This person is sunned by the vast majority of Persons of European Heritage.

While Louis Farrakhan is a hero to the very people who's lives he has destroyed.

For this factoid to have even the most remote of validity it would have to compared to the role reversal test.

IE how many blacks are killed other blacks.

The only validity needed in replying to you was that black people do not kill white people in numbers that allow you to claim there is a problem, other than murder being a problem.

If you are interested in the other number for some other reason, it is right in the link.

I doubt you will see this behind your "Shield of Ignorance" though.

It is likely that being outside "the village" you cannot accurately gauge what is occurring. Likely cherry-picked secondhand information is used to paint a portrayal that fits with a certain view. You could find different depictions from different sources.

While I no longer live in Milwaukee proper, I don't avoid the city, other than areas where it's known to be dangerous at any time of day. I know people who live in the city and we talk about this stuff- they don't like it, either. I'm there on a regular basis and other than the examples I gave before, I haven't been attacked. I have encountered people who seemed to have a very bad attitude, but I have met/spoken with people in checkout lines, going in and out of stores and I just haven't met people who overtly seemed to hate me, or Whites. I meet people from all backgrounds and I think life would be very boring if everyone was the same but people I meet are in all age groups, so it's not a matter of only a select age, who may be like me- we remember when....when people didn't do the things they are.

That's ancient history- this is 2013 and things have changed drastically since then, all over. We had four shootings yesterday, within two hours.

That 85% figure seems to follow all races here in MKE, not just Whites. It seems as if that aspect of the equation hasn't tipped toward anything close to a war and for that, I'm happy. I would like to see less race-baiting and more dialog, though. We had a few writers for the local paper and their official job was to write about various topics, but one specifically seemed to have a "Whites are keeping all of us down" agenda.

Just pointing out that this suggestion completely contradicts your self-admitted method of extrapolating your entire worldview from cherry picked anecdotes, ie, every time in the past that someone has had to suggest that you pick up a newspaper to educate yourself on related subjects.

Your last paragraph does hit a good point- when someone from the government (or Jesse Jackson, etc) steps up to someone who was a victim of some offense that may not have had anything to do with racism and makes a lot of noise about "Are you gonna let that White person do that to you?", it's hard to see an end to it. If they would let people get on with life, it would probably turn around fairly quickly. Taking from one to give to others and then taking more because governments can't stop finding ways to spend money is unsustainable- at some point and if it's allowed to happen, we'll be buying everything from the government and they'll dole out everything they decide we need.
