Rack Bass Multi Effects - need some tips please!

I am looking for a used rack multi-effects of decent quality in the sub $400 range. I was thinking along the lines of TC Electronic or Lexicon but don't know which models (or if "any" for that matter) are good for bass.

Can I get some recommendations please?

Dont get the nady multieffect. Lots of noise and the effects suck. Guess you get what you pay for.

You should check out the Mangler from Kurtzweil that's for sale in the Classifieds. It won't have great distortion sounds but rest is pretty good and its right in your price range. They make pretty nice synths and it will have a pretty wide range of control. The main one I like on the cheap would be the Korg Ax3000b. It's got some useable distortions and I really like the envelope filters (though they might be a bit of an aquired taste). You can also get some pretty elaborate step sequencer kind of sounds. Les Claypool uses one to great effect. You can find them new for $200 last I checked.
