that seems weird since my $160 sansamp BDDI pedal will drive my 3002 into "too loud" with the amp's knob on like 10:00 no problem;

what if you just dime the power amp, will that let your pre wake it up?

i see it has settings for kicking the balanced out up to +4, which will totally push any power amp; the issue then becomes getting the sound into the PA. if you go straight XLR cable pre to amp, you could take a parallel out from the 1/4" on the power amp, using a balanced 1/4" TRS to male XLR adapter, to send that same +4 balanced signal to the board. (kinda hot for most mixing board mic inputs, but pro guys can deal).

That's what I liked about the RMX's I used to use in my PA. The features on the back were the absolute best. BTW I absolutely hate with the utmost passion power amps with programmable anything on them. I hate it, there I said it.

Since you'd be running that amp in stereo at 6 ohms per channel.
Each channel is rated at 700W at 8 ohms and 1100W at 4 ohms. Since 6 ohms is between that, my assumption is that you be getting about 900W going to each cab.
That's a conservative amount of power to use with your cabs if you're careful.

You could probably get away with using one cab and one channel for mid sized gigs……and then take out both cabs for a big show if you decide on the 3402.

I guess the 3402 will work just like the PLX2 1804 for you at the end of the day for you.

Alrighty, I think I found an 1804 I want to buy....HOWEVER....quick question. Can I run both channels, of it, by plugging my preamp into the channel A input? I don't want to biamp...Thanks in advance.

You would have to use either a Y cable, to run your signal into both channel inputs, or plug into an input connector one one channel and run a cable from the other connector to the second channel.

I miss the days of either Crown or QSC.. Each company had about 3 or 4 models to choose from.. Now each company has maybe 10 different series of amps and 10 model under each series.. , at different ratings etc etc.. Crown must have 40 models and does QSC..
Which would i get???
I dont think i would ever need more than 1200 if the amp dilveres the goods the way my old crown does.
I dont mind lightweight.. I LOVED and still love my old Crown MA1200. Its makes your chest thump like no other.. Even at low volume it is a monster.
Any recommendations?

Doug - it's similar but not identical. It will work too, if you do not need the DI out. The peak LED flashing will not track the external power amp so don't worry about it.

As a bit of a follow up to my original post. I've had great success in using a 1/4" Unbalanced to TRS connection from my DB680 into my QSC PLX2402. I think I found a way to cheat and get the additional 6 dB from a TRS connection out of an unbalanced output. Pretty cool.

With this being said, the lower sensitivity is no longer an issue for me on the PLX 2402. I've actually been able to clip both channels of my amp while running in Stereo, so I know I'm using it now to it's full potential.

I haven't tried my PLX 3002 connected directly to my bass cabs as of yet (as this amp is connected to my PA cabs). I think I'd gain a little more headroom, but I think I might even be better with the PLX 3602 or an amplifier capable of producing around 1200W stereo @ 4 ohms.

So, it seems like Class H amps is what I like. I'm still hesitant with Class D from past experience with bass amps, but I've yet to try a Class D pro level power amp yet.
