Raining Fire

In my early days, I started off playing bass in a high school (soft) rock band, in which our style attracted significant attention in comparison to the thousand and one heavy metal school bands out there.

We got booked for a gig at the opening game of a local football team. Setup was on the field in front of the stands, which was going to be an acoustical nightmare to begin with...

Anyways..... we started playing, and from the reports, the bass was the only thing that projected far enough into the crowds :)

The finale was the classic part though.... The home team lost, but the field mounted fireworks were to go on, and after a lot of oohs and aahs, the band was showered with chunks of flaming cardboard from all the exploded fireworks. Sheet music caught fire, as well as some of the singers hair, and it was surely became a band war story :)
