I recently acquired this no master volume knob amp (only gain) and I like it but so far it is confusing me and using it has resulted a bit tricky. The back panel says 300 Watt at 2 Ohm, but it also says somewhere (and so suggests the model RBA 500 ES) that it is 500 Watt. This is kind of misleading. Does anyone knows if the amp actually pushes 500 or 300 Watt and at how many Ohm? So far I've liked the clean sound of the amp but I don't like that it is not loud at all, and it starts to distort wildly just right after turning the gain above 5, which is dangerous for the speakers and the amp itself. I really like how it sounds clean, but it doesn't get loud enough before it starts to distort. I mean, 300 Watt should offer more headroom, right? It can barely hold up when I practice with my band. And the cab is not the problem since it is 800 Watt/4 Ohm. I just can't believe the amp pushes 500 Watt but rather that it uses/consums 500 Watt of energy. Maybe 300 Watt at 2 Ohm, but this would imply that I would have to get another cab, and for 300 Watt that is kind of not that worthy.
Any leads on what might be happening with the amp or what am I doing wrong or how to avoid the unwanted distortion but keeping it loud are much appreciated.
Also, if anyone knows anything about where to find the user manual for this amp please link me.
