I voted Sonic Blue, which was a leading contender when I had serious LB-100 GAS last year. I think it looks great with rosewood, and would go with a matching headstock. But really, G&L's finishes are so awesome that it's tough to go wrong. My favorite might be Ruby Red Metallic, like the M-2500 on its way to me now.

My original plan was Belair Green with a maple board. But then I visited Rocket Music and saw the Belair M-2000 they have. I like it on the M-2000 but it's a bit much for an LB-100. I guess I'm in the mood for something more subtle. My JB can be the flashy one.

I played both LBs he has there - one maple/ash and one rosewood/alder. The maple was great (especially for slap (on a P-bass? ...What?)) but the rosewood had this great dark, focused thump. I usually prefer maple but for this bass, rosewood might be my choice. I was honestly surprised how different the two basses sounded to me. The maple was much airier while the rosewood was a lot more focused.

I really like the blue with the vintage tint neck slightly more than the matching headstock.

I'm including this image because it is dramatically different- it doesn't have as much of a vintage vibe, but it would be a looker.

So I'm not saying I'm gonna get one of these any time soon but I recently played a G&L LB-100 and loved it with the rosewood fingerboard (unusual for me). So it's time for a random poll to see what strangers would get if they were me (and if I were actually getting one).

3-tone sunburst (vintage tint on the HS)

I could get a matching HS on the blue (kinda like it without - also odd for me) but I wouldn't do that on the SB.

I'd probably go for something different than the sunburst this time. The blue is mighty nice! I've already got a 90's LB-100 in sunburst. Looks like the one you have here, but with the white pick guard and pickup. They look great like this!
