[Rant] Posting oversized pics

Really? That picture is 5800 pixels wide. By fine do you mean you can see the whole image at once? The physical size of the screen makes no difference, only the resolution does. 60" TVs typically won't show more pixels than a widescreen monitor (1080p TVs would be the same pixel width as my screen, but not as much height (1200 vs 1080)).

Well if someone has a 60" TV and is using only 1440x900 resolution or something like that, then personally I feel it is kind of dumb. 2560x1600 or something high like that is good for a large monitor or TV, I think it can be appreciated a bit more like that.

I would have been surprised if there were no oversized pictures in this thread.

:smug: Exactly - red rage to a bull syndrome.

I must say, I get really pissed off with threads that have over-size images in and cause me to have to use the scroll bars on my laptop to find my way around.

I can't even read the full posts without dragging the bar from left to right and without a mouse, it's a real chore.

I'd back any move by the mods to limit image size to about 1600 x 1200 (or, whatever fits on a "normal" monitor).

Can you show me a 60" screen with that resolution? HD Plasmas and LCDs top out at 1920 x 1080. I could appreciate all kinds of things that don't really exist. ;)
