Tried one at local music store, basicall a good all-around fuzz and drive. For $85, is it a good deal?

I'm actually looking for more of a subtle drive, just to man up my sound a little more. Something like a vintage tube distorting.
I have a cruddy little Fender Rumble 15, but in a few months will be getting a Roland Cube 100 or a GK Microbass 1x12.

Keeley-modded Rat owner here. Wouldn't own one without the mods.
Bad. Ass.
It's not a new RAT 2, it's vintage/used from about 10-15 years ago. Though I am looking through the Toronto craigslist, and have found the Boss ODB pedal. Is that good?
Apparently they won't do mods on the newer RATs either, so those are gonna become scarce.
The reason they stopped making/modding those was that they found the newer RATs to be of poor quality construction, too crappy to be worth modding...

I know I want one for exactly the same purpose: tube like overdrive. Plus the various different characters that the pedal offers.
