Rate my band's live demo

We played a gig a few weeks back and recorded it live off the board... we took 6 of the songs and made a quick demo montage to send to other bars in the area...

Let me know what you think...

you can also check out one of our first originals in the same music player.

Thanks!

Very nice, no do-overs on a live recording, but sounds pretty good. Did you go to a multitrack, or just stereo outs to the recorder? Some of the male vocals I might boost just a touch if you had the capability to do it after the fact, but its more personal taste on my part, I'm certainly not saying its a "bad" mix anywhere.

for live it sounds clear enough. Isn't very tight on the first song though.

On the original track the song is nice, but the vocals are way to quiet and the singer sounds a bit bored and lifelass. And the backing is a bit the same. Good playing
but guitar solo goes on too much. You sounded quite lively on stage but the studio.s stifling you I think.

it was just 2 tracks out of the board... I agree that the vocals don't sound loud enough on the recording, but they were cranking there at the club (probably because of wash from the monitors)...

the studio work wasn't actually studio, it was done in the basement band room...
I guess we need to do some better tracking, it's hard to get the same energy level when we're tracking other tracks.

Thanks for the comments so far...
