Wow, one band is "Pop" Withought a bassist... So what? Hell, have you ever heard of Rap? Hip-Hop? Thats a Whole Genre of Music, with a HUGE audiance that dosent Give a CRAP about guitar at all... Ill admit the basslines arent "WootRific" but damn, I havent heard more than a handfull of guitarists that can play anything but Powerchords...

If you're ever seen a rapper perform you'll see that there is often a guitarist backing the group. Its there, you just have to listen for it and remember that its not used the same as in most rock.

But there, you can feel the bass - if you're close enough to the speakers...

but there is bass in metal - its just overpowered by noisy guitarists but still, there are some bassists who manage to cut through even them

Well, I actually dont like rap too much, or Hip hop. But the stuff I HAVE heard, didnt have much, if any guitar.

Any specific examples?

Ill see if I can find it. Im not a rap fan but Ive always tried to listen for the guitar in there and often will find it. Its just used differently and is usually samples instead of actual guitar but in live performances is a real guitar.

Hmm... Maybe it was just lost in the Mix, or I didnt pick it up correctly...

I do Listen to some Eminem (FUNNY AS ALL HELL!!!!!) and I dont recall hearing almost any guitar, A few songs do but most dont... I guess its not used as an instrument really, but as a "Sound effect" or something like that?
