Double Bass Realist Pickup on an Eminence EUB

Quick question,

I have it placed under the bridge foot, closest to the E-A, as opposed to the D-G.

Would I get better tone out of the D-G if I placed it under the other foot, or is the difference negligible?

I'm trying to dial in the perfect tone, and it seems as if the bass dies once I hit the A, much less the G.

thanks!

It's usually best under the E string, both on conventional acoustic basses as well as the Eminence. No law against trying it on the other side, to experiment. However, if one string "dies" over another, it's usually the bass setup (make sure it's not being pinched at the bridge or nut) or string (look at it after striking it to see if it is vibrating evenly like the other strings), not the pickup.
