I first heard of these here on Talkbass via the great @JimmyM , thanks for the tip Jimmy! I prefer it to the Hofner Gold Label I used to have. Its a vintage Japanese made violin style bass from the late 60's. It features the RadioShack house brand name "Realistic" on the headstock. The lower bout is enlarged, which makes it more comfortable for me to play sitting down then most violin style basses (including my old Hofner). Anyone else on here play an old "Realistic" bass? Hope you like the pics, cheers!

Sorry man...totally forgot to reply when I saw your post on my phone that day. Yours looks in better condition than mine, without quite as much damage in easily seen places. Glad you were able to score one, but for those who can't, they are also available under the names Greco and Univox, though many of them have F-holes.
All good! Would you potentially be interested in rare earth magnet pickups? My tech swapped the weak "fridge" magnets in the pickups for more powerful rare earth magnets, and I miss the vibe of the originals. If you'd be interested in swapping pickups let me know!
Ooch! You didn't keep the originals? No, I won't ever get rid of the originals in mine, sorry bro. I wonder how often they come up for sale on Reverb or Ebay...I do see parts from old Japanese guitars and basses all the time. You ever run across a T knob like yours, let me know!
