Really late gig pay

Next week I should be getting paid for a gig I played in August 2009. Good money, too, cause the court ordered the promotor to pay some extra. I suggested to the singer that we should get everybody together and throw a party with overpriced alcohol and "This Is Spinal Tap".

So, that's not quite four years. That makes me wonder - what's the latest any TBer has been paid for a gig. I'm sure we've got some stories about getting paid decades late...

I'm still waiting to get paid for several gigs I did in 2002. I don't ever expect to see it considering the BL also owes two former managers tens of thousands of dollars and has since filed bankruptcy and lost his home to foreclosure.

From a teaching gig rather than performance: The owners of the guitar shop where I taught were forever allowing no-shows to keep sliding without paying, because "the customer is always right", along with giving them discounts that were taken out of my pay. They probably managed to screw me out of a grand or two over the four years that I spent giving private lessons there...I'll never see a dime of it, either.

Lost a weeks wages from a club we played at 20 years ago.
The owner pulled out a gun when we went to collect our pay.
He left town quickly , we went to the Union & complained,
the Musicians Union blacklisted him a year later.
What a ****** business we deal with.

This was why the first thing we did as a band was open a joint account. Gig money goes into there and then we all have to be the ones to get anything out of it. Also lets us stockpile money a bit for gear and such that the band needs as a whole (PA equipment, trailer for gear) without having to worry about where everyone is financially when it comes down to buying time.

Waiting for the Canadian Government to pay me $250 for doing NXNE 2 years ago.

I filled in for a fairly well known blues singer/guitarist. I ain't holding my breath on this Paycheck!

I got an all access pass for the week and saw some great bands and so did my roadie (wife), but trying to get $$$ from a government funded arts program is pretty painful.

I'm still waiting for some royalty checks from a hair metal production deal I did in 1993. Lost the contract years ago, wouldn't surprise me if it was on a napkin or something, and the band isn't known outside of a very small market so I doubt I'm missing much.

Random Comment- Ma Kelley was awesome! Props for that. I'm good friend w/ Troy Steele and saw a reunion a few years ago. Very fun music!

Well, I got paid, though it is a little depressing to realize that most of the money I got for the best-paying gig I ever played was not really for playing, it was the late fees in the contract. Party was fun, though. Pulled all this stuff out:

And the singer brought caviar and champagne.

I'm sure somebody on the DB side just got paid for a gig that happened in the 1950s, though.
