Really Low Action (schecters)

So a question for all those schecter players out there

How low is your action? I've seen a few posts containing schecters and info on them. One really caught my attention, saying the nut slots were cut really deep. Because my shcecter was my second bass, I never really thought to compare it to other basses till lately.
Anyone else have really low action with a schecter, without it being set up?

Action is not predictable on production instruments.

Most Schecters are made in Korea by Cor-Tek, who makes nearly everything else coming out of Korea.

Schecter claims (as does Ibanez) to do US setup on incoming Cor-Tek imports, but I have not seen that they do appreciable work on the nuts. Almost all nuts on production guitars and basses are cut more or less wrong, because it takes a long time to do it right and time is money. Many bass nuts these days are pre-molded and not cut at all. Sometimes they're right, usually not. The correct result is to have the same clearance at the nut you would have with a zero fret. This is relatively rare to find on all strings.

How low your played action can go without buzzing is a function of several things, most notably fret plane trueness and low neck relief. Of course, how hard you play makes a great deal of difference.

I have found the stuff from Schecter and Ibanez that have supposedly been set up in the US to pretty consistently have actions that are too low to be played without buzzing.

I had a Schecter Stiletto for a couple years. I bought it because it had amazingly low action when I played it off the wall at Guitar Center. This was back in the day before I even knew that basses had truss rods and could be set-up to any desirable action I wanted. I have to say, that thing played fantastic for the price I payed which was around $350.

My Schecter's factory set up is crazy low. If i play finger-style a little bit hard..I get an agressive finger style tone.

I had a Stiletto Custom-4. It's action was medium to suit my playing style (aggressive finger / pick). Never tried to coax it low. Didn't have any real issues with it.

My CV-5 has super low action. It's exactly what I like in a 5 string. Lets you go from calm finger to aggressive crazy. It has a lot of the character similarity to a Q5 I had my hands on for a while.. (Which is ultimately what I'd like to go crazy on.)

the Schecter Stilleto Custom 5 was perfect low action of the wall at GC too. Thats why I bought it!! It was awesome.

I'd say my Schecter's have lower than average action. I like that with TI Jazz Flats (very low tension) and a flat neck.
