Really quick speakon question

I'm going all GK and I need a 4 pin speakon cable. I'm on the Bayou website, and I'm not exactly sure what to order. First connector has a 4 pole speakon-bridged option, but the second connector does not. Can someone who knows the site, or has ordered a 4 pin speakon from there help clarify for me?

You want a normal, straight through 4 wire Speakon cable - NOT a bridge cable. The cable itself has to be four wire as well as the connectors in order to biamp with a GK (bridge cables are 4 wire connectors, but typically two wire cable . . . ). The GK cable is nothing more than a standard pro-audio bi-amp cable, as used on PA gear, monitors, etc. all over the world, so they should know what you need . . .

I can find the normal 2 pin, and I can find the 4 pin connectors, but I can't seem to find a finished cable. I only need about 5 feet. So I figured Bayou was my best bet. Do I have to contact Butch for a custom, or am I just missing it?

Can't tell you on that one, since I make all my own. I have noticed, though, that Carvin has the 4 wire cables listed as a normal item in their catalog.

It's not that tough to find normal 4-wire Speakon cables and indeed, most of Carvin's are wired correctly for biamp applications.

Is the PRO5TL 4 pin? It doesn't specify.

The 5' Speakon cable is their only two-conductor Speakon cable actually. This is another instance where Carvin needs to get their online and print catologs in synch and usefully accurate.

So the PRO10TL is 4 pin? I've been looking everywhere and can't seem to find 4 pin cables. The connectors - yes, finished cables - no. MF, GC, Bayou, local shops...

If you can strip wire, and figure out which end of a screwdriver to grab, you can make your own. Hope Depot has 14/4 SJO or SO cable, which is 4 wire with a rugged rubber jacket, and plenty heavy for bass apps (12 gauge is nice, but for 5' and under about 2000 watts, the difference is irrelevant . . ), for a buck and change a foot . . . grab 2 connectors from your favorite supplier, and in about 15 minutes, you are done.

Oh, and can't tell on the Carvin on-line - the catalog was clear, but I am on vacation 1400 miles from my catalog . . .

Are stock GK speakons 12 or 14?
