I will agree that I don't really ever recall seeing a '64 in natural (My brain tends to be a useless vault for seeing/remembering mostly useless bits of info about basses that don't concern me. Go figure.). Thus making it a pretty rare bird. But,is it $20k rare? Opinions and other useless bits of info are welcome.

Now, I'll probably come off as a total vintage Fender n00b (which, incidentally, I mostly am), but I kinda always figured block inlays were not introduced until, say, '67-ish or thereabouts...

I'm not saying this thing is not genuine, I lack the competence to judge, I'm just saying I'm surprised, is all live and learn, I guess.

I digem',too. BIG TIME! I (Check profile.) have one r-e-a-l-l-y desirable (IMHO 2. I'm biased,tho) basses. Acquired my '61 Jazz "stacker" for $75.00 + A badly BUTCHERED(!!) Fender Bullet Bass (U.S.). And no,I don't feel one damn bit guilty for the lop-sided swap,either. After all,this took place back in '88-'89.

Blocks not intro'd until '67..... It's a '64. And,no I'm not bein' a smartypants,either. Just lettin' you live'n'learn,friend.

I have a 1964 dated Fender L-Plate on my Telecaster.

A nice man made it for me to my requested 1964 serial number...which also happens to be my favorite number.

Many people have offered me serious money for my Telecaster...the lesson being, if you're willing to spend real money on a vintage Fender, no how to identify when they're not.
