Reaper help - duplicating a section across all tracks?

Hoping someone here can help, I've been poring over the doc and asking for help in Reaper forums, but no luck yet. I can't get it to work. I want to duplicate an entire section across all tracks. I set up my selection, it works just fine with loop play, but when I try to copy within time selection then paste, I get nothing. How can I duplicate a time section across all tracks. It was so easy in Audacity, but Audacity stopped working for me. Reaper is so much more powerful, but VERY hard to do simple things.

Select all the tracks, make a splice at the beginning and end of the part you want to loop. Then select all tracks on just the spliced-out section you've created. Control C to copy what is selcted and Control V to paste it.

Thanks! Can you explain how to "make a splice"? Sorry for such newb questions, but this is about the most obtuse interface I've ever tried to figure out, and the doc is useless.

Let me put it another way: I have a tune structured ABC where B is the region I want to duplicate / repeat, creating ABBC. The region in question is B. How do I accomplish this without getting weird off-beat overlays?

I just want to duplicate the middle section across all tracks - can someone tell me (in detail) how to accomplish this? I'm on a windows 10 pc if that's relevant.

So you'd separate the A B and C sections by selecting all tracks and splicing, then move C over to the right, and copy paste B in the gap. Turn snapping on (the magnet) and then drag C back over and it will snap into place along side B and boom. Seemless edit. It's really simple.

I didn't have the same experience with basic editing in reaper. I found everything i need to know by looking around the menus. Keyboard shortcuts are all marked on the menus.

The command in Reaper is officially called "Split". You'll find it in the "Item" menu.

What's difficult about your actual interface? That should be a seperate issue from your DAW / editor program (Reaper).

Is the "doc" you're using the several hundred page user manual available as a free pdf download? It should be.

Thanks, no issues with the interface itself (Focusrite Scarlett 2i4). Issues are with the Reaper UI. Yes, I've pored over the huge user manual, many online help pages and videos, to no avail.

I don't know what I'm missing, but when I follow along the instructions and try to repeat their exact steps, I get different results. In Audacity, this is as simple as a left click and swipe, and then Effects->Repeat. In Reaper, well, I don't know, honestly.
