Trying to get a sound sample of my new Sire D5 and Reaper is suddenly misbehaving I can't get it to recognize inputs from my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4.

I still find Reaper controls alien, any hints what I should be looking for?

Took me a while to figure this out too when I first got reaper. Right click on the red circle on the channel strip that's above and to the right of the fader - the same one you click to arm tracks for recording. That's where all the inputs are for that track. You might have turned it off inadvertently, or maybe your interface driver crashed.

The main thing I don't like about Reaper (which is the DAW I use) is that I keep finding that I've just done something and I don't know what it is. Sometimes it's within reach of the undo menu, sometimes it's not.

Yeah, that happens to me every once in a full moon...accidentally hitting some keyboard shortcut combination I didn't even know existed. Of course that can potentially happen with just about any DAW, I suppose, unless keyboard shortcuts are turned off. (I've also had that happen once or thrice in Adobe InDesign over the years, and then had to google the "symptoms" regarding how appearance or behavior in the program had changed to figure out what I'd done and how to undo it.)

OK so what happens to me is that Reaper glitches and then goes into some sort of "ultra slow mode", the play cursor moves really slowly and I get no audio out, recording stops working, The only way I've found to reset it is to close Reaper and resstart - is there an easier way/ I get no error mesgs, it just stops working...
