The Musicmaster bass bridge screws don't all align with the Bronco screws. Also, The Musicmaster bridge only strings through the body so through body holes and ferrules are required.
As per my previous post, if the string spacing is close to standard, a stock Fender Vintage bridge will work fine but you'll have to drill five new holes to mount it to the body.
Its funny you mention this because I had a squier jazz which I loved and the neck got all warped because of crazy weather so my friend gave this to me. I love it. It had a different tone so I turn up the lows and turn down the highs on my amp, but I dig it. I think it sounds like a mustang bass. The neck hasn't warped on it yet. Tone is in the fingers man. Thats my opinion. The bronco is an underdog and I'm an underdog so I can understand it.
Why do you think a Fender Vintage Bass bridge would be an improvement over the stock Bronco bridge? The Vintage has 4 saddles, but does that automatically produce better sound than a 2 saddle brdge?
I'm a big believer in the basic Fender bridges - but it's often very helpful to have four saddles so each string's intonation can be set individually. To me, that's the point.
Yeah, I was being facetious... Should've probably had a smiley in there... In point of fact, my post states that I've gone back to the original six-pole Musicmaster pickup and am quite satisfied...
I've been saying for years that these Musicmaster pickups are underrated... Nothing 'thin' or lacking about them. For a real eye-opener, wire them straight to the output jack and hear them roar!! I'd be willing to bet the same is true for the Bronco pickup...
To be honest, this thread has me gassing a bit for a Bronco!

I agree with OLJB. The problem with me is that I love to modify things so that they become my own unique thing. Its the same as adding/doing stuff to the cars I've owned.
There is no way I would modify anything on my $650 Schecter, but on my $150 Bronco? - Hell yes!
Yep some people have an insatiable taste to tinker and experiment. ( e.g. Leo Fender ) Like Mike19 said, you don't do it on just anything, but we're living in the prime time era for affordable instruments and parts at bargain basement prices. I'm lovin' it, myself.

However, I wonder about those who feel the need to a $150 pickup to a $125 bass.
But it IS fun, and I also live to tinker, that's a big part of the enjoyment with me!

LOL...I'm the last guy that thinks a bridge contributes much to the "sound".
I just like to be able to adjust intonation and string height with a phillips screwdriver.That's why I like the "Vintage" bridge.

Not that I've ever noticed... The SD Hot Rails has a pretty strong field throughout.
