For me i was first drawn to the bass because of the balance triangle (anyone who was a band geek in high school knows what that's about)

I'm glad i choose bass. My fingers are too big for guitar. I have a hard time Playing guitars because of the string spacing.

As I understand it from my band, the reason I play bass is so that I'd stop firing the bass players.

I don't think any of them thought I'd end up on TB where any given thread is liable to yield (in no particular order):
Fire the guitar player
Fire the singer
Fire the drummer
Rage quit/fire yourself.
