reccomend me a bass

i just started playing in a hard rock band and we r playing alot of down tuned and heavy stuff, i have a hot rod jaguar bass but it doesnt really fit the hardcore/metal image and i dont want to get heavier gauge strings coz im also in a jazz band and a light rock band.

Can someone suggest me a fairly cheap bass that fits the "metal" image and sounds good, preferably a five string bass if not i can just string it BEAD and get a set-up.

Thanks
Jack

I recently bought an Ibanez BTB 475. Active fiver that's not unreasonably expensive. The neck is thin and easy to play, string spacing is not too narrow and it looks metal enough for me at least.

I tried several other, more expensive basses as well, but the Ibanez was by far my favorite.

I recommend that you at least try it!

You asked for a fairly cheap bass and post links to a $700 and $1300 bass. What is "inexpensive" to you? Because $1300 is the most I'll ever pay for a bass, and I'm still trying to talk myself into spending that much.

Why not go for this? [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

And that is abit expensive, you can look at the Tribute series, which is the same electronics just made over seas. Closer to you actually LOL. It is a very versatile bass and has no real look of any genre.
