It is at the Vortex, but the Vortex is in Dalston (hackney) not Islington.
The gig was advertised as a trio of Evan Parker, John Edwards and Mark Sanders, I nearly went but didn't, regret it now!
You're right... Heck, I used to live in Dalston Kingsland and remember that train stop well... My goodness, it's only been 9 years... I'm getting olde...

9 years ago it might still have been in Stoke Newington, can't remember when it moved. But currently a few minutes from Dalston Kingsland

I have been listening to Dave play improv bass for like 40 years. He is a true master.
I also saw him on tour with Kevin Eubanks in Chicago in the last few years ( Prism tour ) and was blown away.
He was playing his shorty "traveler" bass, and of course he sounded excellent!

no one really knows yet - feels like a disaster but details are still pretty unknown
Thanks for the info. I hope it doesn't make it any worse. The only time I was able to make fairly good money aside from sessions with Pete Brown was taking the ferry from Dover to Calais and spend a few weeks in Europe... or a few weeks in Ireland.
Thanks for this! I can't wait for his new album with Ches Smith, Craig Taborn and Evan Parker, I wonder if this gig sparked the interest in that recording session (or if it's been planned for awhile).
