Recommend a good power supply

So I'm putting a pedal board together, but I'm not sure what power supply to go with. The Gator power supply looks really good and it's only $80 new. What makes the Voodoo Labs power supplies worth more money beside that "sag" effect? Is it just the name? What makes the T-Rex fuel tank worth $200 new?

Regarding the Voodoo Labs unit, the "sag" effect is worthless IMO, and the name is not so glamorous that it would command a higher price. However that unit is built ruggedly, and most importantly each of the outlets is isolated. That one quality puts it in a category above almost all of the other power supplies out there, and that's what makes it worth so much money, to me and to anyone serious about avoiding hum and interference.

Are the outlets isolated on the Gator power supply or the cheaper voodoo labs power supply?

And what is the difference between the cheaper voodoo labs power supply and the more expensive one?

The BBE is also isloated, but it doesn't have the capability to change the voltage level of each output like the PPII. At least not to my knowledge.

The small one only has two 9VAC and two selectable 9VAC or 12VAC outputs.

The more expensive one has
* 8 isolated 9V outputs
* Powers both types of Boss pedals
* Powers Line 6 effects
* Adjustable "Sag" emulates dying battery
* Wall Wart socket

$30 difference

I actually found the sag option on my PP2+ to be TOTALLY worth it for my Big Muff. It changes the sound entirely, to something...almost BLENDED (which I believe is a big issue with the Big Muff for a lot of people...they want a blend knob). I've sagged the voltage as far down as it will go, which I believe is 5v.

Cool, I guess I just haven't tried the sag with the right pedals yet. :cool:
