Recommend a good quality but inexpensive 4x10

If you can swing it, there is a Glockenklang Quattro in the classifieds right now for $500 + shipping OBO. Shipping a 410 would suck and be pricey, so maybe not an option for you, but, if I were looking for a 410, that one would be high on my list (worth contacting the seller and trying, anyway).

I bought a head from the seller and found him good to work with -- other than that, no affiliation.

You should consider a Peavey TX 410 or 410 TVX. I used it with a Trace Elliot amp alongside a Hartke 410 xl, and it was fine. Then I got an Eden WT550 with aux in ( for running music from the pc or such directly into the speaker), and found out the Peavey 410s are made as full-range. Wow, what a discovery that was, excellent sound quality! I think it's a largely underrated cab (also goes for the price, which might be in your favor).

Used SWR would be my first choice if I did not have to lift it. I use a 2-10 as my big rig but I do not do loud rock. I know a lot of major touring guys that are still using 20 year old swr 4x10s.

Heres a used Avatar from GC (I've purchased 3 or 4 used cabs. from them - always had success). I've never used Avatar- but hear good things about them.

Used Ampeg 410HE from Craigslist or Guitar Center for ~$300 should do the trick. Try and get one of the newer (within the last 10 years) Asian ones which to me sound better and also weigh less.

I love my two Hartke 2x10 hydrives. Having a 410 in a 2 cab configuration is great for two reasons:
1. Ease of transport
2. Flexibility ... I've run it stacked, I've piled them vertically, I've split them on either side of the drummer, I've gigged with just one for smaller situations

Of course, it'll put you a bit over your $500 budget...

I am looking for a good quality all purpose 4x10 cab that I can use in a classic rock band, a new country band, or any other gig that may come my way. Budget is around $500, would love a Bergantino or the like but over my budget... light weight, portable, versitle. I have never been a fan of Hartke stuff, so the Hydrive won't work. Not a carvin or Avatar fan either. Using either a Mesa D800 or GK mb500 fusion head. Want something with low end but also some punch. Some thoughts I had..

Genz Benz Uber410 or Focus 410
Ashdown ABM
GK Neo 4x10 or MBE410

I already have a 12/6 and a 15 from LDS, so please no "get 2 112 cabs or a modular 2x 210 set up". Just want a mid priced, good quality, versitle good ole 4x10...

I cant recommend the GK Neo 410 enough. They are amazing IMO and IME. I have been using one heavily for almost 5 years now. They can really take and put out a ton of power and bass. Easy to transport too. I would like to get another to stack with my existing one for bigger gigs someday. I play in an original hard rock band and its never let me down. And it's quite versatile too, can do a lot of genres.

I had a Hartke Hydrive before the Neo and while it was nice, the GK Neo could handle so much more. I feel that the Neo can almost handle anything you throw at it.

I would also look into older used Peavey cabs. Great bargains out there and they are pretty nice. Heavy, but nice for the price.

I really don't think you can wrong with the GK NEO 410... Great sounding cab. You can probably find one for around $400 used. Great value IMO.

Used warwick 411 pro. They go for chump change on the used market and have really good sound. Couple of dollars more will get ya a used Acme B4

GK is probably your best cab in that price range. But I would certainly continue to look used, including here. LOTS of great Eden and other top notch used/heavy 4x10s out there as people start shopping for Neo cabs.

I'll bet if you were blindfolded and listened to all the amps out there, in a mix, you wouldn't know a Hartke from an Ampeg from a GK. Sure you may hear SOME difference but I'll bet you couldnt identify which was which.
Now that I've got that off my chest.
Now that I've learned how to eq my sound; I love my Hydrives!

...but, if you're willing to go used and add "Luck" (admittedly a big variable) to make the "Cheap" leg of the triangle not as significant a driver, you may be able to get close to your dream...
