Recommend a powered cab for preamp

QSC K12.2 do go low. The measurements are online at QSC.com including frequency response, and EASE & CLF data. You won't find these measurements for a bass cab, but if you did they wouldn't compete much with a K12.2.

Now some may not hear a k12 as going low due to an audio illusion. The mids/highs from the horn have a wide dispersion pattern. You'll hear more of the mids/high even close up, an this fools you into thinking there is less lows.

Two k12.2 wouldn't go lower, they'd go louder with the same frequency response.

If you do need more low lows (i.e. Fundamentals) you would generally add a subwoofer.
Subs too have EASE and CLF data and you can model how well they will actually work together in a venue with this data.

You don't need a powered cab, you can plug a preamp into the power amp section of any amp. Use the return socket.

MAS is a great option, also accugroove makes powered cabs. And the QSC K12.2 is a strong option

Yes, I’ve tried this with me Eden 550 but really wanted to cut down on lugging the gear if possible. Sounds nice through the Eden power stage though.

Pretty much any PA top cab (including the K12) will function as a wedge monitor.

I'm in a similar position, recently bought a Kemper and I'm thinking of adding a powered cab sometime later. I'm thinking of trying the QSC K10.2, it doesn't go as low as the 12, but it's a little lighter, a little cheaper and I've seen people online preferring it to the K12.2 (for PA use at least).

They are pretty easy to move, they are compact, and while not really light they are not too heavy. I personally feel like other 12” powered PA speaker/monitors don’t cut it for bass rigs like the QSCs do. The EVs and JBLs suffer too much frame rattle when run at a useful volume in my experience.

IMO, a lot depends on whether you're also modeling speaker cabs in your signal. If you're doing that, running your signal into a "typical" bass cab is going to add color (note "typical" - say an Ampeg or Eden cab) that you may not want. A FRFR cab would be my choice in that case.

If you're in AU, Wayne Jones powered 1x10 or 2x10 would be solidly worth looking into. They are pretty amazing sounding cabs.

Anyone here tried the Headrush powered FRFR cabs? They seem to get good reviews.

The Headrush are actually powered PA cabinets (FOH)
You don't need something that specifically targets "Bass" or "Guitar"
Powered is open to them all.
Once you realize this then you can see you can try many of the other brands of Powered PA cabs available.
I suggest sticking with the major brands with actual publish measurements and charts. A FOH engineer can explain what they mean over a beer.

As soon as things settle down in the next couple of weeks I'm going to try some of these suggestions. There is a Blackstar powered cab at my local store, never tried Blackstar at all so don't really know anything about them and they have JBL, Yamaha and QSC so I'll give those a go and report back with results.
