Recommend me a Jazz bass pick up

Hi ,

Im hoping you can help me out. Im after a Jazz bass pickup that is true to the Jazz bass sound and tone (eg must still sound like a single coil Jazz pickup)but with a little extra balls , growly is good , scooped mids is not .
BTW my current pickups are the Fender 62 pickups

Any suggestions

The 62 reissue pups are fine.
If you must try something different, Nordstrands. They will sound smoother...
But the pups you have now are probably better for what you seem to want...

I love my Basslines Quarter Pound pickups. They have larger pole pieces and more output. They have a great tone for rock or blues. They are only about $125 for a set so they are not outrageously priced like some of the boutique brands.

If you don't want scooped mids, you probably do NOT want the DiMarzio Ultra Jazz.

A lot of people are going to say Nordies

And a few others will say Fralins, maybe with an overwind for more punch and low mids.

Won't go wrong either way.

Norstrand NJ4SE. I single the bridge pu 95% of the time for that Jaco sound. Both pups for slapping. I've been playing for 26 years (1983). Played active basses from '87 until last May when I bought as set of the NJ4SE and left them passive. I love 'em. I found my sound.
