Dude just buy a body from one of the many builders that supply them. Figure out what pickups you want... tuners.. bridge...
THEN, figure out the specs for the neck you want... how thin, the radius, etc... and have a luthier build you that neck... the EXACT neck you want. Send him the body... the hardware.... have him paint the body. Have him put it all together...
You will have exactly the bass you want and it will cost about 1300. Maybe less if you don't get too zazzy with the hardware and pickups.
I have done this above process a couple of times, if you want more info PM me. The only downside to doing things this way is you have to be patient. It takes 2-6 months for the luthier to complete the work usually.
But there will be no compromises.
