Recommend me a reverb pedal

Zoom CDR is a bunch of fun.

OBNE Black Fountain. Nothing like those oil can sounds.

Zoom MS70CDR gives you a ton of options for chorus, delay, and reverb in one programmable multi-pedal.

These - the zoom is the better over all with tonnes of verb options (and other effects to boot) which can be stacked, and it's cheaper.

The digitech has fewer options and they can't be stacked together, but the verbs sound lush. Would you hear the improvement in a mix? Is the higher price combined with fewer effects worth choosing this over the zoom?

Personally, I'd go with the zoom!

EQD Afterneath has been mentioned and is great. TC's Hall of Fame (or Arena) reverb has the most versatility IMO and can be had cheaper than most mentioned here except Boss.

For ambient stuff check out the walrus audio descent, its like a reverb mated with a pog.
I'm happy with my malekko spring chicken though

For my money and ears, it begins and ends with an Iron Ether Nimbus. Getting reverb right for bass is tricky. Iron Ether got it right. The Nimbus was specifically designed for bass and baritone instruments. One of the best purchases I ever made when it comes to effects boxes.

If you want more than that (i.e. other delay or time-based modulation effects as well) you'll want to look at the more expensive Strymon product line. Strymon's boxes generally sound really good when used with a bass. And if money is no object for an effect, there's always the Eventide H9. If you want it all, a fully provisioned H9 will give it to you. For a price.

Just my tuppence, so take it for what it's worth. YMMV.

I had an afterneath and returned in exchange for HOF. I liked the Afterneath but couldn't find place to use it as much Id thought I would. Very out there and fun though.

Strymon Flint; the different tremolos add a lot depending on how you use it in conjunction with the different fantastic reverbs on it.

I have a Joyo Space Verb that I just love to death. I use it for bass and guitar both. It's tiny, inexpensive, and sounds fantastic. Highly recommend at least checking it out.

Eventide is fantastic for this application - or you might want to stack reverbs. A buddy did some interesting work stacking his MXR Reverb with his amp reverb.
