Recommend me a video camera...

I've been looking to start taking videos of things for maybe to upload onto youtube or for other events and what not. I don't know really know much about video cameras, but I got some ideas for what I want out of one if it helps.

Heres what I'm looking for:

• Nothing too pricey... around $400 tops... willing to go a bit higher if it's really worth it.

• Must be able to upload directly to the computer via USB or whatever the norm for uploading is.

• Doesn't need to have all the bells and whistles, just as long as it takes a decent quality picture at a decent resolution.

• Decent audio quality.

I don't know much about video cameras or how much they are for what I'm looking for. Recommend it to me as long as it isn't anything outrageously expensive.

Thanks in advance.

"RECOMMEND A VIDEO CAMERA TO ME"

"Recommend me this" "recommend me that", it's all over this forum. Can't people speak English any more? Sorry this thread was the straw that broke the camels back.

Woah... hows it going officer? :scowl:

Anyway...

How about something like this one? It uploads via USB, and rather inexpensive. 30GB hard drive, sounds as it would hold quite a bit. I didn't have the intention of recording straight to a DVD anyhow, so I think that looks good for me.

I do. It's a JVC Everio. They go for about $300 I think with 20 gigs and the ability to record in widescreen. I wouldn't really recommend it. Although I don't use it much, it still doesn't thrill me.

That Sony that you posted a link to looks good, though. I put trust in Sony products. They don't add a lot of bells and whistles, they just do it quality. In my opinion, at least.
