I've listened to Copacabana by Barry Manilow hundreds of times without knowing Will Lee played the bass. What a groovy bass line! I also dig Will's bass on "Walk between the Raindrops" by Donald Fagan. What are other cool bass lines he's played?

Here are some of my favorites. Two are from Chaka Khan's first solo album:
I absolutely loved the sound of his slapped P-bass through his phase shifter or flanger.

Same album...Neil Jason is on the live album (Heavy Metal Bebop). And it kicks some booty, as well.
...early Steve Khan is loaded with Lee, Grolnick, the Breckers, Gadd, Sanborn et al.
Hiram Bullock's version of Funky Broadway starts out with a killer Will Lee groove, and it never lets up! RIP Hiram.
I've posted this before but get to the tag at about the 4:00 minute mark and see how Will keeps building on it, sublime. Him on lead vocals too.
Ah, man, that takes me back... "Some Skunk Funk" was one of the mainstays of the nightly jam sessions I attended my freshman year of college. Get in a room with a drummer who knew the tune cold and 2 or 3 horns who could sightread that flysh*t and just strap yourself in for a roller-coaster ride!
There's a video on youtube of The Brecker Brothers playing that tune live, it's got Neil Jason on bass but it's not the Heavy Metal Be-Bop band, and holy crap they take the tempo up about 20% from the studio version!
